Brian Cody
Univ. Prof. BSc(Eng) Hons CEng MCIBSE
Prof. Brian Cody is founder and CEO of Energy Design Cody and a chartered engineer with 30 years of experience in the analysis and design of energy efficient cities, buildings and systems. He is also full professor and head of the Institute of Buildings and Energy at Graz University of Technology in Austria and visiting professor and head of the energy design unit at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria. Prior to his appointment at Graz University of Technology in 2003, he was associate director of the international engineering consultancy Arup with over 13 000 staff in over 35 countries and design leader of their offices in Germany. His focus in research, teaching and practice is on maximizing the energy performance of buildings and cities. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng MCIBSE) and speaks fluent English, German and Turkish. Prof. Cody serves on many advisory boards and juries. In 2014 his contribution to the design of the NRW state archive building in Duisburg, Germany was recognized with the Balthasar Neumann European Award for Architecture and Engineering.
